Service Users - Carol - Day Services

I live in Hackney with my husband and have sickle cell anaemia. I've been coming to the day service for almost a year.

I come here twice a week and I really enjoy it. It's opened up a whole new world. On Tuesday I work behind the counter in the canteen, serving meals and drinks to the other service users - at lunchtime it tends to get really busy!

On Thursday I spend the whole day on the centre's animation project - they've got proper cameras and lights and we make our own animated films. It's really interesting and really good fun. Before I came to the centre I would spend the day sitting at home and watching movies - now I find I'm making one!

Since I started coming here I've got to know a lot of people and made new friends. The rest of the week I'm just taking it easy, but I always look forward to Tuesday and Thursday - they're the highlight of my week!
